Description:
The Western Museum of Mining & Industry is known as the "Museum That Works" Watch as we turn on our 1895 Corliss Steam Engine and many other operational machines from the Industrial Revolution.
Try your luck panning for gold or enter a model Mining Drift to see what it was like when the Gold Rush was on.
In the summer, experience the power of a working Stamp Mill or the heat of our Blacksmith building. The WMMI tour guides bring our nation's history to life with fascinating stories and demonstrations.
Services & Amenities:
WMMI is a History Museum, located on a 27 acre campus. There is ample room for bus parking, outdoor picnic grounds, or select space inside our renovated, authentic Reynolds Ranch Haybarn. We have sweeping views of the Colorado mountains, and are located directly across from the US Air Force Academy on the north side of Colorado Springs.
Create a tour that best suits your group's needs.
About Us:
WMMI is a non-profit history museum whose mission is to educate the public about the history and continuing contributions of mining, ranching and other supporting industries in the American West.
